In Holland
These cute, red-and-green houses,
These kindergartens, rose and yellow, and scarlet,
These dark-skinned children, like small dwarfs,
Reflected in the softly-frozen channels
Those old grocery stores where shelves full of
Next to jars of pot-bellied, long a smoky,
the noise of taverns, drowning, depressed,
These tall women in white caps,
It's all so familiar, and it seems in the tale, I
And is ready for the obsession to exclaim I: vade!
I met Rembrandta Saskia?
I returned your age Adrian van Ostade?
